ভানুমতী (Bhanumati), First Novel in Assamese, Published in 1890

The first Assamese novel, published in 1890. It was written by Padmanath Gohain Barua, who was only 19 years old at the time of its publication. He later became the first President of the Asam Sahitya Sabha.
